IGEL Recognizes Indiana University Health with Customer Innovator of the Year, North America Award

Largest Healthcare System in Indiana Recognized for Delivering IGEL-powered Digital Workspaces to Enhance the Quality and Innovation of Clinical Informatics

San Francisco, Feb. 19, 2019– IGEL, a world leader in software-defined endpoint optimization and control solutions for the secure enterprise, today announced that it has awarded Indiana University Health (IU Health) with its Customer Innovator of the Year, North America award.  The award was presented during the 2019 DISRUPT End User Computing Forum event hosted by IGEL in Silicon Valley, Calif., February 5-7.

IU Health has powered the transformation of its digital workspace solutions for improved clinical interactions, reduced login time and enhanced security with IGEL Universal Desktop™ (UD2) endpoints and IGEL Universal Management Suite™ (UMS) management software, in combination with Imprivata and VMware Horizon View. Together, these solutions have helped the growing healthcare system to replace over 12,000 aging clinical kiosks with robust support for single sign-on capabilities along with simplified and centralized management and enhanced security. The result has delivered significant clinical efficiency enhancements, greater endpoint management control and lower overall end user computing costs.

“IU Health is an exceptional showcase for the successful implementation of a modern digital workspace which meets the heightened demands for security and compliance in a healthcare setting,” said Simon Clephan, Vice President of Business Development, IGEL.“Their transformation has been both fast and impactful and well deserving of our Customer Innovator of the Year, North America award.”

“With 14 hospitals and counting, the ability to swiftly integrate a new facility lends strategic advantage. Add on clinical efficiency, improved security, faster rollout and power savings and the new digital workspace solution delivers significant benefits for our environment,” said Will Johnson, Director of Information Services, Indiana University Health. “It’s an honor to be recognized by IGEL for our accomplishments.”

“Hospitals need to think about managing the entire digital workspace and transition to enhance clinical productivity and security,” said Nathan Bohanan, Manager, End User Compute, Indiana University Health. “We’re pleased our technology management choices have enabled swift and nimble adoption at scale.”
