We Have Another Award in our (UD) Pocket!

ud-pocket-expo-theater-imgIGEL’s micro-endpoint, the IGEL UD Pocket, continues to punch above its weight, capturing more industry recognition, this time from CRN®, which has honored IGEL with a 2017 Tech Innovator Award. In a 32-category competition, CRN gave top honors to IGEL for the UD Pocket in the “PC- Workstation/Desktops/AiOs” category.

CRN awards honor technology standouts that are moving the IT industry forward. Since IGEL launched the UD Pocket just a year ago, it has certainly been a catalyst in moving the industry to think of a new approach to delivering a secure user experience to remote and distributed workplaces. Enterprise customers have quickly realized its value. In less than a year IGEL and our partners have sold tens of thousands of the UD Pocket to large enterprise accounts.

This IGEL UD Pocket, just thumbnail-sized, runs IGEL OS on a bootable USB drive. It’s a tiny device with a big ROI payoff: saving organizations millions of dollars by giving aging desktop devices a new life. Our channel and alliance partners are getting tremendous results in providing this highly affordable solution to organizations that need to control access to the network for remote workforces or contract employees. Booting up the UD pocket gives them all the applications they need, yet with a security level IT needs.

Our partners like the IGEL UD Pocket’s ability to plug into any x86 machine, including Macs. Users can access cloud services, server-based computing applications and virtual desktops. Once the user has finished accessing their virtual desktop environment through the IGEL UD Pocket, they can simply reboot their principal OS and return to the original desktop. It’s fast, secure, easy to do, and it is all managed by integration with the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS).

We thank the CRN editorial staff for recognizing the versatility and innovation of the IGEL UD Pocket and are committed to developing more new products to serve emerging environments such as IoT-driven workplaces.

The Tech Innovator Awards will be featured in the December issue of CRN and can be viewed online at CRN (http://www.crn.com/rankings-and-lists/ti2017-details.htm?c=29).
