We’re Having a [VMware] Blast at VMworld 2016

61-gpzniVMworld 2016 is an exciting event for us! Our new North America CEO Jed Ayres is now onboard to tell customers about our plans for our expanded presence in the region, and we are launching the integration of VMware® Blast Extreme Protocol into our endpoint software. The new features afforded by this integration make it possible for our channel partners to provide their customers with an industry standard solution that supports a high performance video and graphics experience for the end user – a technological innovation that is highly desirable as social media and other platforms demand better visual experiences.

IGEL is committed to helping our channel partners and their customers improve the efficiency and agility of their modern end-user computer environments, which today includes a growing mobile and remote workforce. The VMware Blast Extreme Protocol, a component of VMware Horizon 7, is VMware’s next-generation display protocol that leverages industry-standard H.264 video compression to provide end-users with access to their desktops and applications hosted in centrally managed environments, and giving them the ability to do using any number of desktop and mobile devices.

One thing we’d like to point out: we believe firmly in this standards-based approach. It provides a more robust user experience and support for a broader range of end-user devices, as compared to PcoIP alternatives. This integration adds to our robust features and functionality we have to offer throughout our entire line of VMware Certified endpoint solutions:

  • Support for server-based hardware acceleration via NVIDIA GRID™ M6, M10 and M60 graphics cards; AMD FirePro S4000X, S7000, S9000, S9050 and W7000; Intel HD Graphics
  • P4700 and Iris Pro Graphics P630
  • Endpoint hardware-based acceleration for H.264 capable devices
  • Lossless CODECs that enable images to be compressed/decompressed without a loss in quality
  • Support for virtual channels

Since we’re talking about visual experiences, come see our thin and zero client solutions at VMworld Booth #549. Visitors to the VMworld booth will have the opportunity to take home one of IGEL’s signature plush hedgehogs in exchange for a donation of pocket change that will be given to the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. If you’re an IGEL partner, customer or press and would like to attend our Family & Friends event on Monday, August 29 at Border Grill at Mandalay Bay please contact [email protected].

Plush hedgehogs and endpointsJ. We have it covered at VMworld 2016!
